The world is getting smaller. Like it or not, globalization is a fact of life.
Our children will be interacting even more with people from different countries and cultures in the future.
Not only outside the USA, but also right here in North-Carolina. From finance to IT, to banking and construction.
We need to prepare our children and give them the tools to be more competitive in this global market place.
We have a lot to be proud of at PLP: The STEM Program is top-notch, the Arts Program is beautiful, and of course the Spanish Immersion Program is a dream come true!! But a lot more could and should be done, especially at Middle School and High School level.
Born and raised in The Netherlands, lived and worked in several different countries. Immigrated to the USA at age 29.
Former International Business Instructor turned entrepreneur with a passion for travel and education.

The American Dream
Growing up in The Netherlands, "America" was just a dream. Something from the movies or TV. Watching the A-Team or Knight Rider. Or listening to the stories of my parents how American soldiers liberated them during World War 2 and stories of the food droppings
during the "Flood of 1953".
The overarching theme was the same:
FREEDOM
Free to live how you want to live
Free to be who you want to be.
Free to say what you want to say.
That's a dream worth fighting for.
That's a dream worth passing down to your children.

I have lived and worked in several different countries and still work daily with people from around the world.

It has opened so many doors in my life.
It has literally been life changing.
As an immigrant its not always easy. What is "normal" to you, is not always normal in your new host country! Cultural adaptation & integration is a fascinating process.
Respect and an open mind are the only prerequisites.
Language & cultural skills should be taught starting at a young age for the best results. Will you help me?
